Behind the Scenes: Creating Exquisite Wedding Cakes

A wedding cake structure does not appear on the reception table overnight. Here is how a multi-tier centrepiece usually comes together in our kitchen, from the first conversation to the last flower.
From sketch to structure
We start with your palette, guest count and venue. That tells us whether you need a single display tier, a classic multi-tier structure, or a larger backdrop piece, and whether it should be real cake or a decorated foam base finished with icing and flowers.
The finishing hours
Icing, flowers and any matching bouquets are planned together so the cake, the table and the bridal party feel like one piece. The guest pieces - the wedding cake you actually serve - are packed separately, ready to plate after the structure is cut.

If you are planning a wedding, we can walk you through both the structure and the pieces. Share your date and a few inspiration photos when you request a quote.
