Rich Cake
Rich cake is the one dessert almost every Sri Lankan celebration has in common - the same traditional recipe we use for our Wedding Cake and Christmas Cake, packaged simply in a plain box or wrap with no seasonal theme, so it suits any occasion. Ours is made the traditional way, with quality ingredients and no shortcuts, and marzipan is available on request.
Our classic recipe includes brandy, in keeping with tradition. Because the fruit needs time to soak and the cake benefits from resting after baking, it's worth ordering a few days ahead rather than last minute. If you'd prefer a halal-friendly or alcohol-free version, let us know when you order — we can prepare it without alcohol on request.
